Capsicum baccatum from Bolivia.
A peach-colored variant of Bolivian Orange found by Judy, Peperlovers, USA. Melocoton means peach in Spanish.
This pepper also exists in yellow and orange version.
Whimsically shaped oblong peppers of approximately 10 cm.
Ripening from green via cream into peach color.
Like many baccatums this one also has a very good taste.
Hints of citrus and exotic fruit, sweet and very aromatic.
Very mild heat that reaches its maximum almost immediately after tasting, followed by a warm glow that lasts for a while.
In combination with the excellent taste this pepper is a very good choice for those who do not like excessively spicy.
Vigorous shrub-shaped plants that can easily reach 1.5 m (5ft) in open ground. In pots they become approximately 1m (3ft).
High yields fairly early in the season.
