Heirloom from Rotonda, a native village on the border of Calabria in the far south of Italy.
There exist several strains of this variety, all large beefsteak types.
The one we propose is the paste type producing red fruits from 120 to 250 grams
More or less elongated, ribbed on its upper half and slightly rounded shoulders.
Thick and dense flesh containing little gel and seeds. Typical flavor of heirloom tomatoes.
Ideal variety for making sauce or coulis.
Vigorous plants with good development, indeterminate.
Very good and regular production from second half of the season until frost.
