Heirloom from the USA, also known under the names ‘(Henderson’s) Crimson Cushion’, ‘Red Ponderosa’ or ‘Scarlet Beef’.
Introduced by Peter Henderson in 1894. This is the original strain of Red Beefsteak.
Bright red fruits from 250 to 500 g. significant ribs at the top.
Deep depression at peduncle. Firm tasty flesh, old fashioned flavor, very few seeds.
Indeterminate, normal vigor, regular foliage.
