Capsicum annuum

Sweet pepper from the Zips region, Slovakia. Shared to William Woys Weaver by a German Zipser priest in 1983.
The Zisper community is a German speaking minority in present-day Slovakia. After many centuries of traditions, they almost disappeared after WWII. They belong to the Carpathian Germans.

Translated, the name means: Turkish Shoes of the Zips.

Conical to cuboidal sometimes ending in a curved point. Fruits grow upright.

Ripen from green-purple to orange-red.

Pleasant fruity sweet taste without any heat.

Shrub-shaped plants about 60 - 70 cm high.

Good yields from mid-season.
